David Bollier is an American author, blogger, policy strategist and international activist who has written extensively about the Commons. In 2002 he has co-founded Public Knowledge, whose mission is to preserve the openness of the Internet and the public’s access to knowledge. In 2003 he has founded onthecommons.org website and has edited it until 2010, when he co-founded the Commons Strategies Group, whose primary purpose is to “help, consolidate and extend the many existing commons initiatives around the world”. In 2012 he has won the Berlin Prize in Public Policy for his work on the commons and nowadays he blogs at bollier.org.
For few weeks it is possible to pre-order his new book called “Think like a Commoner”, which represents an involved close examination about markets, political institutions and issues concerning the Governance, underlining the rich history and the promising future of the Commons. “The commons is arising as a serious, practical alternative to the corrupt Market/State”, states Bollier.
LabGov intends to support the translation of the book into Italian (it has already been translated into French and Polish). From June to September a crowdfunding campaign might be built in order to publish the Italian e-book version in October. The publication of the Italian version of the book requires multiple sponsors. LabGov can’t wait to see it translated as soon as possible in order to share it and make it known among our Italian and worldwide followers and readers.
